Free On-Ramp OrientationAt Northwest Nazarene University, we believe the transformation of the whole person occurs best when students are introduced to their online learning environment personally. Rather than enrolling new students in an impersonal tutorial by correspondence or tossing them into the deep end of the "graduate theological swimming pool" without any preparation, NNU's School of Theology & Christian Ministries believes in the value of a personalized, intentional orientation to online learning.
At NNU, we're calling this two-week orientation On-Ramp, where adult students explore online what graduate theological education looks like. It's also where very experienced, caring instructors pave the way for the success of their students. Ultimately our goal for On-Ramp is to acquaint new students with what it means to participate in online theological studies at the graduate level.
Once students are admitted into our programs, they are enrolled in a free two-week On-Ramp orientation during the two-week period that precedes their first full course. Fortunately for students, On-Ramp comes at no cost since the orientation carries no credit. But we're convinced it's such an important step toward student success that we require it of all students.
This orientation is fully online, in the same way that a student's regular course work will be completed. As an On-Ramp participant, new students learn to navigate Canvas, NNU's online learning management system. They'll also begin to build meaningful relationships with other adults in their online learning community and get acquainted with many of the research tools available to them through our digital library.
If you've been thinking about applying for a master of divinity or master of arts degree at NNU, there is no reason to delay. Apply today and discover for yourself what graduate theological online education looks like at Northwest Nazarene University.
